Manychat templates: a flow blueprint you can build

No import link here. Unlike most Manychat templates, this one is a blueprint you build: the Instagram comment-to-DM flow, filled with your offer and voice.

Chapter 01Blueprint

The Instagram starter flow

For people who ask for a resource under your post or Reel: send what you promised, ask one question, then route the answer to a call, a resource or a person.

What you build in one flow

Element
Comment keyword triggerWhat it does: Starts the flow on one post or Reel
Public reply (optional)What it does: Tells the person to check their DMs
Opening private replyWhat it does: Offers the resource with one regular button, not Open website
Button or Quick ReplyWhat it does: The tap that opens the 24-hour window
Resource messageWhat it does: Sends the link, then one question
Qualification branchWhat it does: Routes the answer to a call, a resource or a person
Human handoffWhat it does: Notifies your team and stops the flow
  • Best for

Coaches and consultants with an Instagram offer and a real reason for someone to DM.

  • Before you build

A connected professional Instagram account, your resource, your fit rule and a booking link.

Chapter 02Personalize

Fill in your offer and voice

A blueprint is only as good as the facts in it. Fill these in once: every message template in the next chapter updates, ready to copy.

Your offer and voice

Offer facts and the words you’d use. Nothing is sent or saved on our side.

Make it sound like you

Read each message out loud. If you wouldn’t type it in a DM, change the words, not just the brackets.

Chapter 03Copy

Every message, ready to copy

  • Public reply (optional)

Under the comment, if you turn it on.

Sent! Check your DMs for Replace [resource].

    Why it works
The person knows where to look.
  • Opening private reply

    Sent by the comment trigger.

Replace [greeting] Want Replace [resource] from this Reel? Tap below and I’ll send it here.

    Send it
    Why it works
One clear choice. The tap opens the conversation.
  • Resource delivery

    After the tap.

Here it is: Replace [link]. What are you working on first: Replace [option A] or Replace [option B]?

    Next
Save the answer to the goal field.
    Why it works
Deliver first, then one easy question.
  • Fit question

When the answer points to your offer.

    Got it. Replace [fit question]

    Next
Save the answer to the fit-answer field.
    Why it works
One question that checks your fit rule.
  • Call invitation

When the answers meet your fit rule.

Replace [offer] is built for Replace [fit rule]. Want to book Replace [call]? Replace [booking link]

    Why it works
The fit is visible before the link. A booking counts when the calendar confirms it.
  • Not a fit yet

When the answers miss your fit rule.

Thanks for sharing! Replace [offer] is built for Replace [fit rule], so a call won’t help yet. Start with Replace [resource].

    Why it works
An honest no keeps trust. Not every chat ends on the calendar.
  • Human route

A question the flow can’t answer.

Good question. I’m passing this to someone on our team, with what you shared here.

    Why it works
The person knows someone is coming and won’t repeat themselves.

Chapter 04Data

The tags and fields to create

Five items, set by the flow

Name
comment-guideType: TagSet when: The trigger fires on the post (name it after your keyword)
goalType: Custom field (text)Set when: The person answers the first question
fit-answerType: Custom field (text)Set when: The person answers the fit question
qualifiedType: TagSet when: The answers meet your fit rule
needs-humanType: TagSet when: The flow hands off to your team

Send your CRM only what it uses

A tag your team never filters on is noise. Start with these five and add a field when a decision needs it.

Chapter 05Build

Build it, review it, test it

  1. Build the flow

One Post or Reel Comments automation, the messages above, the tags and fields. Every Manychat menu, click by click: Manychat Instagram automation tutorial.

  2. Review what’s already live

Look for other comment or keyword triggers on the same post, and your Default Reply. One automation should answer each message.

  3. Test from a second account

Comment, tap, get the resource. Then answer as a fit, as a poor fit, and ask for a person.

  4. Activate

Set it live on one post first. Expand to more posts once the whole path works.

The first DM isn’t an opt-in

Per Manychat’s comment trigger documentation (opens in a new tab), a private reply alone doesn’t open the 24-hour window. The person’s reply, a regular button tap or a Quick Reply does; an Open website button doesn’t. Build the flow around that tap.

Chapter 06Check

Before you install Manychat templates

A shared Manychat template installs a ready-made flow from a link, often with its tags and custom fields. Check these before you confirm one.
